Michelle Devaux Davey

Why therapy?

Past experiences, traumatic events in life, or highly stressful situations can all result in emotional problems leading to personal difficulty.

Working with me, with help from a professional practitioner who is trained to explore these with you, at your own pace, in a safe and secure space is recognised and understood neuro-scientifically to be hugely effective at making long-term change entirely possible.

Who am I?

Hello -

I am Michelle Devaux Davey, a professionally qualified Counselling Psychotherapist registered with The BACP (British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists) as well as appearing on the accredited register of The BPC (British Psychoanalytic Council).

I am based in

·      Cheltenham, Glos

·      Oxford, Oxon

·      and Wantage in Oxon.

 My experience base –

The experience of every individual has always mattered to me; so, after an extensive career in business I decided to develop myself further by completion of a five-year Psychodynamic Psychotherapeutic training.

Clients and Patients come from several backgrounds –

·      Young people aged 14 – 18 years; with substantial experience gained from my practice at the prestigious Brit School of Performing and Creative Arts.

·      Adult individuals to provide shorter duration counselling; typically 12-16 weeks.

·      Adult individuals for those who either wish to, or need to work more deeply, providing psychotherapy for an indeterminate period known as open-ended.

·      Working one-to-one with Executives and Head-Teachers to explore unprocessed issues or trauma that may limit the success of both the Company and the individual.

In my practice, I offer a confidential, transparent and private space to talk with empathy and sensitivity, to think, to be thought about, and to be listened to...

I maintain one bursary supported space at a significant reduction to recognise those either on benefits or very low income.

In addition, I maintain one more bursary supported space to encourage those from an ethnic minority to access therapy – please note individuals from these groups currently account for around only 3% of those seeking help with around 95-97% of therapeutic patients being white, middle-class professionals.
